Good to see the Tragedy debut in there. Nice inclusion.

Disfear's Misanthropic Generation was much better than Live The Storm.

That's your complaint with this list? Every Converge LP this decade is on it, I thought you'd burst a blood vessel.

It's to be expected. Muso magazine writers looooovve them. They get all goo-ey and slushy when they think of Converge. Dillinger Escape Bland too. They reach for the thesaurus at the sight of one of their albums plopping through the letterbox onto the mat.

Tragedy are the darlings of the american punk underground - the arty types love em as well because they don't have a website etc.....very mysterious

That Warhorse album wasn't that good really. Not even top 100 material imo.

(Original 70's Warhorse were far superior anyway. 8) )

You should check out the Ludicra Morf if you've never heard it. It's a 5 fist album.

They seem to have a thing for placing some bands' weakest albums above their stronger ones, such as putting Phantom Limb above Prowler in the Yard or Remission above Leviathan. And how come two High on Fire albums made the list and neither of them were Blessed Black Wings? No way that Songs for the Deaf is better than Rated R either, and as I mentioned earlier I'd never put Words... above Chronozon or Mendes. I won't even start on Meanderthal being above Monotheist either. Poor list.

Also, where's Pink by Boris? Or anything by Boris for that matter? In fact, I don't think there's a single Southern Lord release on that list.

Fair play to Decibel for not putting any Sunn bracket bracket bracket zero albums in there. That must have been a conscious decision on their part.

Do Decibel have a problem with SunnO)))? Even if they did I think it's pretty childish to ignore the output of all of their bands, especially bands like Wolves in the Throne Room, Earth and Boris who have released some great records over the last decade, not to mention Wino's album or any of the projects O'Malley and Anderson have been involved with that aren't SunnO))).

Especially since everything Melt Banana put out after Charlie, excluding the live album, has been complete arse.

WARHORSE is a Southern Lord band.  "Annihiliation of the Wicked" is THE most complete NILE has ever sounded. It should have been higher on the list and is most assuredly above all other NILE releases.  Way to much CONVERGE for sure. Not sure what didn't make it that i would have had. Need more perusal.

Didn't expect Shellac's '1000 Hurts' to be in there, even though it's a great album. 'White Pony' was kind of surprising too, but then again, not really. 'Brave New World' up that far is definitely some kind of sick joke.

As for the lack of S.L artists, i'm kind of surprised, because i figured that Declbel would jock that sort of thing.

obviously not.

anyway, all the usual suspects in the sludge and/or post-hardcore side of the equation. e.g high on fire, mastodon, isis, converge etc etc.
