Editorial:

For every new wave, resurgent wave, revival, trend, fad or exciting new scene, there's dirty, dank underbelly and that's where you find us, rummaging around for a nastier and more genuine alternative. If thrash is back, and it certainly is to judge by the old bands reclaiming their titles and new pups striking out of titles of their own, then Ohio's Skeletonwitch are its long, menacing shadow.
Fusing black metal, crusty death and toxic, razor-tipped thrash metal, they're a hard-working, hard-touring bunch of roadhogs, who by the time you read this will be on a UK tour alongside blackened sludge lords Goatwhore and the equally vicious Toxic Holocaust.
We're not in the habit of picking up and dropping bands, we cover the ones we know are special and that's why Skeletonwitch have been invited into a diverse pantheon that includes the every other band in this magazine, from Canada's underground black metal scene in the form of Weapon and Olivier Badin's in depth Quebec scene report right through to our access all areas view of life on the road with grinding sensations Insect Warfare.
So get reading, because there's no cross-genre musical gathering as carefully curated and proudly put together as our own.
