Terrorizer #183 May 2009
mob rules The summer of rage is upon us, and for your soundtrack of dissent look no further than the revolting racket coming from our own fair isle. The City Of London may have seen its fair share of riots this past month but nothing compares to the disturbance of the peace rallied against the offices of Terrorizer when, one quiet Monday, 50 or so members of the UK death metal mob descended en masse to demonstrate of behalf of British brutality. Trigger The Bloodshed, Annotations Of An Autopsy, Ignominious Incarceration, Viatrophy, Infected Disarray and their cohorts of cacophony burst into our lives, tore out our ear canals with bludgeoning blastbeats, drank all our booze and caused havoc on the streets of East London. The UK has not seen a scene this exciting since Paradise Lost and Napalm Death were changing the face of extreme metal in the late ‘80s or when Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest were forging the British steel that we now swear by. Speaking of Britain’s early grind scene, have you seen the new Terrorizer website? Not to be outdone by the evilution of our country’s musical endeavours we’ve put the internet mouth first on the kerb and kicked it until we felt www.terrorizer.com was a fitting home for anyone with a penchant for the extreme and a browser. For those of you who followed our recent two-part grind special there’s more where that came from with the likes of Napalm’s Nic Bullen and Barney Greenway, plus blogs, forums and interviews galore. Go explore till you puke blood. Louise Brown, Editor
